Possible Clues:

• Some icebergs around water bird
• Short-winged, almost tailless, freshwater diving bird
• Almost welcome capturing black bird
• ... murder of bargee, not a diver
• Bird nursed by young Rebecca
• Freshwater bird - or a 1920s RAF biplane
• Bird in the genus Podicipedidae, commonly “arsefoot”, which means much the same
• Waterbird heads for good river estuary to live
• Aquatic bird I see leaving frozen mass, going north
• Bird black in colour? Not completely!
